Punjab has taken a groundbreaking step in modernizing its licensing system by introducing Pakistan’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered driving test car, developed on the special instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
The smart vehicle, designed and built by the Traffic Police, aims to make driving tests more transparent, fully automated, and free from human influence.
DIG Traffic Waqas Nazir said the car is equipped with modern cameras and sensors that can automatically assess candidates’ performance.
Inside, the vehicle features a facial recognition camera and a biometric fingerprint scanner, while four external cameras record driving behavior during the test.
Once a candidate sits in the car, the system activates automatically, providing test instructions, a countdown timer, and checks for safety features like the handbrake and seatbelt.
The AI-powered system can also automatically declare a failure, such as if a candidate engages reverse gear more than once.
Test results are updated instantly without requiring any manual input.
The AI-based driving test car will first be deployed in Lahore. Authorities confirmed that 200 such vehicles will be manufactured during the current fiscal year and delivered to licensing centers across Punjab.

Oh look. More scams.. which ai ever is used on driving ?

I think putting energies on this there are more important issues to be addressed on high priority basis such as
1. Wrong way drivers motorcycles, Rickshaws, Ching ches and even the Cars on main roads just save time and save petrol putting own life and lifes of other right on lane drivers.
2. Extremely high beam LED headlights of cars that blinds the opposite side drivers.
3. Bikers, Rickshaws, ChingChes without any light in the night.
Unfortunately None of the traffic police officers seen working actively on these serious issues. Most of them are seen active in day time without helmet or planned Naka style checking with a day fix for type of vehicles.
