Punjab Announces 8000+ Teaching Jobs

The Punjab Higher Education Department has approved the recruitment of 8,084 College Teaching Interns (CTIs) to address faculty shortages in public sector colleges across the province.

The allocation includes 5% for minorities, 3% for persons with disabilities, and 0.5% for the transgender community.

Duration of Engagement

For Intermediate classes, CTIs will serve for seven months, from October 1, 2025, to April 30, 2026. For BS programs, the engagement period will be ten months, from October 1, 2025, to July 31, 2026, or until permanent staff are appointed.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must hold at least a BS or Master’s degree with a minimum of second division in the relevant subject. Candidates with MPhil or PhD qualifications will be given preference. Academic records, higher qualifications, and board or university positions will contribute to the merit score. Interview performance will also carry weight.

Stipend Details

  • Intermediate level: Rs. 50,000 per month
  • BS/Graduate level: Rs. 60,000 per month
    Payments will be transferred directly to the selected candidates’ bank accounts.

Terms and Conditions

There is no age limit for applicants. CTIs will be entitled to two casual leaves per month, while TA/DA will not be provided. Placements are temporary and may be terminated by the selection committee in case of unsatisfactory performance. Recruitment will be merit-based, and the use of forged or false documents will result in cancellation and legal action.

Purpose of Recruitment

The initiative is intended to provide immediate teaching support in government colleges across Punjab during the 2025-26 academic session, ensuring continuity of academic activities until permanent staff are appointed.
