PM to Virtually Attend Signing of Financing Facility Agreement for Circular Debt Reduction

The Central Power Purchasing Agency (Guarantee) Limited (CPPA-G), on behalf of the Ministry of Energy (Power Division), has invited banks and power sector entities to the signing ceremony of a financing facility agreement aimed at reducing circular debt in the power sector.

According to CPPA-G, the event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at the Prime Minister’s Office in Islamabad. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to attend the ceremony virtually.

In its communication to chief executives of banks and power companies, CPPA-G underscored the importance of the agreement, describing it as a significant milestone for the energy sector. The agency requested the participation of key stakeholders, calling their presence “essential” to the occasion.

Details of the ceremony’s schedule will be confirmed following coordination with the Prime Minister’s Office, CPPA-G added.
