The 52kg category clash saw fierce exchanges in the early rounds, but Sameer’s sharp footwork and powerful combinations soon gave him the upper hand. He flashed the famous ‘6-0’ gesture, a symbolic reference to the Pakistan Air Force’s dominance during the 2025 aerial skirmishes, while also mimicking the flight of a plane to tease his Indian rival. Singh, visibly frustrated, shoved Sameer on stage, but the Pakistani remained composed as the crowd cheered his emphatic win.
Speaking after the bout, Sameer dedicated his victory to the people of Pakistan, the armed forces, and the martyrs of the nation. “This title belongs to Pakistan. I will continue to work hard to bring more glory to my country,” he said.
