Lahore Gets 40 Electric Buses on Two New Routes

Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz inaugurated Phase II of the Lahore Electric Bus Project, unveiling 40 additional electric buses for the city. The inauguration ceremony, held at the Expo Centre, drew a large turnout of officials and citizens.

During the event, CM Punjab announced that 70 more electric buses would be added to Lahore’s fleet by December. A documentary highlighting the features and benefits of the Electric Bus Project was screened, and officials provided a detailed briefing on the expansion plans under Phase II.

The authorities revealed that the new phase will introduce two additional routes. Route 1 will run from Raiwind to Jinnah Terminal via Thokar Niaz Baig, while Route 2 will operate from Jinnah Terminal and Thokar Niaz Baig to Harbanspura.
