Hundreds of Matric Students Barred From Exam for One Reason

Hundreds of students were barred from taking the matric mathematics exam in Lahore on Monday after arriving late to the examination centers. The exam was being conducted under the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore.

According to one of the candidates, the entrance gates of the Lawrence Road examination center were closed at 9 am, as the paper was scheduled to start at that time.

Parents of several students said their children got delayed due to heavy rainfall that began overnight and continued into the morning, disrupting routine life and traffic across the city. They urged the board to allow at least five extra minutes for candidates to reach the examination halls during such emergencies.

Parents also expressed concern that the barred students might lose the benefit of an entire academic year due to the strict policy.

Meanwhile, BISE Lahore officials stated that the reporting time for all annual exams was set at 8 am and that no student is allowed to enter the hall after 9 am under any circumstances.
