The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has decided to construct a new expressway linking Arfa Karim Tower to Pine Avenue Raiwind Road, with the project’s PC-1 already prepared and submitted for approval.
The LDA has also sought a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA).
According to LDA Chief Engineer Israr Saeed, the estimated cost of the project exceeds Rs. 9 billion. He said the expressway would be an environmentally friendly development and provide a major relief for city traffic by creating a new alternative route.
The project is expected to ease pressure on Kalma Chowk by diverting thousands of vehicles directly from Arfa Karim Tower to southern Lahore. In the first phase, construction will extend from Arfa Karim Tower to Maulana Shaukat Ali Road.
Officials said that a topographic survey from Arfa Karim Tower to Pine Avenue has already been completed. The expressway will feature a three-lane dual carriageway and is being described as a landmark project.
The finalized PC-1 is expected to be presented to the Planning and Development Department for approval in the coming days.

not prectical.
very much practical and needed
This new expressway seemingly is designed to serve commuters from Model Town to Raiwind whereas worst traffic congestion is witnessed in densely populated areas of Lahore. If one has to travel from any point in Lahore Cantt to city center at any point of time it entails at least tiring 90 minutes to reach the destination. Will some look at the plight of the poor in this regards.
Lahore is only for the people living in Model Town , Bahria , Gulberg , Main Cantt and DHA 😅
Nice choice of words. What’s right next to Arfa tower and what’s not far from raiwind. Just a perspective.
What will be the exact route ??
Luckily Bahar Colony besides Ittefaq Hospital parallel to drain would get new Bahar positively and respectively.
Already ring road is serving the elite group. Common man can see it from remote. Are all the resources for previllaged class only. Common man is not less than the beast of burden in his own land.
All developments are in between the Raiwind & model town. Wasting money for superior only not spending for the poor community, who are hardly buying grocery & paying the utility bills.
Assalaam-O-Alaikum.
The Express Way will no doubt ease the heavy traffic rush.It is nice step taken by LDA. Wish all success.
The scheme has yet to be implemented for the armed forces, where contributions currently remain at zero
Yes so High Highness Princes Queen of Lahore Ms. Maryam Nawaz & Her Abba can easily travel from the Model Town Castles to Princely Estates of Jaati Umrah.
While whole Awaam is given the lollypops of U-Turns in whole of Lahore.
My home to Office Distance was 1.5km now due to Extra U Turns it’s 3.7KM wasting Fuel & Time and Increasing Traffic.
