Punjab Mobilizes Anti-Smog Squads Across Lahore to Control Pollution

Anti-smog squads have been deployed across all districts of Lahore Division, including Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura, and Nankana Sahib, to monitor and act against activities contributing to smog.

The decision was announced during a meeting chaired by Lahore Commissioner Maryam Khan on Tuesday, attended by deputy commissioners and other senior officials.

Commissioner Khan directed authorities to take strict action under Section 144 against the burning of crop residue, particularly in areas near motorways and urban localities. She reiterated that burning garbage, tyres, or using substandard fuel remains strictly prohibited, urging all districts to sustain their crackdown on such practices.
