The T-Chowk Flyover Project has achieved a major milestone, with 100% of the piling work completed. Meanwhile, girder casting has reached 84%, and protective wall construction stands at 60%.

The project’s pace has significantly accelerated following special directions from Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to expedite development work on one of the capital’s most important traffic corridors.

Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Muhammad Ali Randhawa, visited the T-Chowk Flyover site to review the ongoing construction progress. He expressed satisfaction over the pace and quality of the work and directed the engineering teams to ensure completion strictly within the approved timeline.

Randhawa instructed that the project should not only meet structural standards but also be aesthetically pleasing, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive landscaping and horticulture plan to be presented soon.

According to the progress briefing, the development work continues around the clock with construction teams, contractors, and consultants working 24/7 to meet the set targets. The CDA Chairman instructed that beautiful LED lights be permanently installed around the flyover and that cleanliness at completed sections be strictly maintained.

He emphasized that every aspect of the project must reflect high-quality construction standards. The Chairman highlighted that upon completion, the T-Chowk Flyover will provide a signal-free corridor not only for residents of the twin cities but also for travelers arriving from Lahore and other parts of Punjab.

The project, he added, is expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion and travel time, easing the daily commute between Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and adjoining areas.

Randhawa directed consultants and resident engineers to ensure timely completion and uphold international construction standards. He was accompanied by CDA officers, the project director, consultants, and contractors during the visit, as he reiterated that maintaining both speed and quality of work remains the top priority under the ongoing development vision for the capital city.
