Next Toyota Hilux Redesign and Updates Exposed in Patent Images

Fresh details about the next-generation Toyota Hilux, known locally as the Revo, surfaced on September 30 through Australian outlet CarExpert, which published new information based on patent drawings and regulatory filings. The report indicates that the new Hilux will undergo a major redesign inside and out, although some existing body structures will remain.

According to CarExpert, the upcoming model will offer two engine options: the high-output 1GD-FTV (HI) engine used in the Hilux GR Sport, and a 1GD-FTV (MHV) variant paired with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. While the ladder-frame chassis, doors, and roof panels will be carried over from the current generation, the truck’s front and rear will feature a completely new design.

The publication also noted that the cabin will be heavily refreshed, taking cues from Toyota’s latest off-road models to deliver a more modern and upscale interior. Leaked patent images and spy shots shared throughout August and September further suggest that an official reveal is close.

PakWheels contacted Toyota Indus Motor Company to inquire about its local plans. A company official, speaking off the record, said there are no current plans to bring the next-generation Hilux to Pakistan as the new Revo.

This unofficial comment suggests that Pakistan may not receive the upgraded model at launch, even as other markets prepare for its rollout. For now, Toyota Indus continues to list the existing Revo lineup without any indication of an imminent update.
