Police in Lahore on Friday arrested a trainee sub-inspector and an accomplice for allegedly snatching a car from a woman in the city’s Iqbal Town area.
According to police sources, the detained officer was undergoing training at the Chung Police Center.
Officials said the suspects had fled the scene after forcibly taking the vehicle, but were later tracked down and arrested.
Car snatching has become a common occurrence in Lahore, especially around Iqbal Town, with criminals coming up with new and unique methods for carjacking.
Police launched an extensive operation using over 300 Safe City and local cameras across multiple districts to track the culprits.
