Police in Lahore have arrested a man for allegedly fabricating a robbery case to misappropriate funds belonging to his employer. The arrest was made by the Lari Adda Police after a detailed investigation uncovered inconsistencies in the suspect’s account.
According to the police, the suspect, identified as Kalar Ismail, called the emergency helpline 15, claiming that two armed men had robbed him of Rs. 531,500 and fled. He told officers that the cash was collected from the shop where he worked and was meant for his employer.
During the investigation, police found discrepancies in Ismail’s statement and decided to question him further. After a thorough interrogation, Ismail confessed to staging the robbery in an attempt to steal the money for himself. Officers said he had hidden the cash in the locker of the same shop where he was employed.
Police later recovered Rs. 510,000 from the locker and returned it to the rightful owner. The accused admitted that he planned to report a fake robbery to avoid suspicion and keep the money.
A police spokesperson said that the suspect’s false call wasted emergency resources and created unnecessary panic. Legal proceedings have been initiated against Ismail under relevant sections for filing a false report and attempted fraud.

The more poverty rises , the more such cases rise. No one wants to risk stealing units they are hungry and desparate
