PFF Undergoes Major Change in Leadership

The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has announced another major change in its leadership, with Muhammad Shahid Niaz Khokhar being relieved of his duties as Acting General Secretary with immediate effect.

According to reports in local media, the decision was formally approved by PFF President Mohsen Gilani, who has also initiated the process to appoint a new General Secretary. The federation confirmed that the transition is already underway, and a replacement will be announced once the selection process concludes.

PFF has not provided a specific reason for his removal.

Shahid Khokhar had served in various roles within the PFF since 2017. He was eventually named a member of the FIFA-appointed Normalisation Committee, which oversaw a challenging period for Pakistani football, marked by frequent administrative changes, disputes, and efforts to restore stability following years of institutional uncertainty.

After serving as Acting General Secretary in 2025, he was reportedly in the running for the role permanently before his removal.

With Pakistan football slowly regaining momentum through recent initiatives such as the revival of local tournaments and grassroots programs, the next General Secretary will be tasked with maintaining continuity while addressing long-standing organizational challenges.

The PFF has not confirmed a timeline for the appointment but is expected to finalize the new leadership soon to ensure operational stability across all departments.
