Shadab Khan Resumes Training Following Surgery

Pakistan cricket fans’ prayers have been answered as Shadab Khan has finally resumed training after being sidelined for months following shoulder surgery.

Shadab, who underwent a surgical procedure on his bowling shoulder earlier this year, has been watching from the sidelines as Pakistan’s T20 side continues to look unbalanced without him. Many in cricketing circles have attributed Pakistan’s T20 struggles against strong opposition to his absence. The surgery also kept him out of the 2025 Asia Cup, where Pakistan could have used his skill set against the all-conquering Indian side.

The all-rounder now appears to be on track to regaining full fitness. Shadab Khan recently shared a video of his rehab session on social media, showing him working through fitness and bowling drills as part of his comeback routine. If all goes well, Shadab could soon be cleared for match training and make his first appearance on a cricket ground since June 1.

The upcoming tri-series against Sri Lanka and Afghanistan is the most likely date for his return with a stint in the BBL afterwards helping him regain match fitness ahead of the T20 World Cup.

The 27-year-old has represented Pakistan in 6 Tests, 70 ODIs, and 112 T20Is, serving as one of the team’s most experienced all-rounders in white-ball cricket.

Fans are hopeful that Shadab’s steady recovery will see him return to international action soon, especially with Pakistan’s busy home and away schedule in the coming months.
