PIA Issues Urgent Travel Advisory Amid Road Closures in Major Cities

The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has issued a travel advisory for passengers following the closure of several key roads in Lahore and Islamabad, warning that ongoing disruptions may cause delays in flight operations.

According to the airline, multiple highways, intercity routes, and internal roads have been temporarily closed or restricted, creating challenges for both passengers and airline staff trying to reach the airport. The situation has particularly affected access to Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore and Islamabad International Airport, where traffic congestion has increased significantly.

In its advisory, PIA urged travelers to leave their homes at least four hours before their scheduled departure time to ensure they can complete the necessary check-in and security procedures on time. The airline emphasized that the precaution is necessary as many employees and passengers have already experienced severe delays in reaching the airports due to traffic diversions.

PIA added that it is in close coordination with local authorities and airport management to minimize operational disruptions and keep flights running as smoothly as possible. However, the airline cautioned that unforeseen traffic delays could still affect boarding and departure times.

Passengers have been advised to stay updated through PIA’s helpline (111-786-786), official website, or social media channels for any changes to flight schedules. The airline also reminded travelers to allow extra time for security checks and baggage drop-offs once they arrive at the terminal.
