The District Education Authority (DEA) Jhelum has ordered the closure of all public and private educational institutions across the district on Monday, October 13, 2025, due to the prevailing law and order situation.
According to a notification issued by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) District Education Authority Jhelum, the decision follows directives from the Deputy Commissioner and has been taken as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and school staff.
Heads of institutions have been instructed to immediately inform students, parents, and staff about the closure, and to make proper security arrangements to safeguard school property during the suspension of activities.
The DEA has also directed school heads to stay in contact with field officers for further instructions. Regular classes are expected to resume on Tuesday, October 14, unless new orders are issued by the competent authority.
On the other hand, the Punjab government has announced the schools and colleges will remain open in rest of the province on 13 October.
