Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had emphasized that promoting the IT sector and increasing IT-related exports are key government priorities. He directed that provinces work together to ensure high-quality and uniform IT education and training.

The Prime Minister also instructed the inclusion of IT as a subject from grade six onwards and called for the launch of IT training programs in Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, and Balochistan.

Shehbaz Sharif added that efforts should focus on improving IT education at the school, college, and university levels, and that training programs should be of such quality that participants can secure good employment opportunities.

During a briefing, officials informed the meeting that internet facilities in Islamabad’s schools are currently being upgraded.
