At least 15 people lost their lives and eight others were injured when a truck overturned and plunged into a deep ravine on the Swat Motorway near Malakand, officials confirmed on Tuesday.
According to DSP Motorway Police Noorul Amin, the tragic accident occurred due to over-speeding, causing the heavily loaded truck to lose control and tumble hundreds of feet down a gorge.
Police and rescue teams rushed to the scene immediately after the incident, with a large number of local residents also joining the rescue efforts. The bodies and injured passengers were shifted to Batkhela Hospital for medical treatment.
