Oil Tanker Association Threatens Nationwide Strike

The Oil Tanker Contractors Association has threatened to launch a nationwide protest and suspend fuel supplies if its demands are not met, accusing oil marketing companies of unfair practices and systemic irregularities.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the association’s leaders said that the automation system has become a major source of corruption and exploitation.

Association representative Abidullah Afridi alleged that commercial loading procedures were being used to discriminate against contractors and that automation had been manipulated to benefit select individuals.

Abidullah Afridi, one of the association’s representatives, claimed that companies are exploiting contractors under the pretext of commercial loading. He said advance taxes are already deducted from contractors, yet they continue to face financial losses due to flawed procedures.

The association called on the Prime Minister and President to take urgent notice of what it described as the “unjust practices” of oil companies and to direct immediate corrective measures.

Leaders warned that if their demands are ignored, they will have no choice but to launch a countrywide protest and halt oil supply operations, a move that could disrupt fuel distribution across Pakistan.
