The Punjab government has prepared a plan to build a new airport in Lahore, the Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) has identified a proposed site near Ravi City adjacent to the M-3 motorway.
According to a news report, the new airport would be located about 30 kilometres from Allama Iqbal International Airport. Consultations are under way on the project’s cost and financing model, and authorities stressed the plan remains at an initial stage.
It is pertinent to mention that constructing the new airport within Lahore would reduce pressure on the city’s existing air-traffic system and create opportunities for employment and investment. No timelines or final financing decisions have been announced.
Is really construction of new airport so necessary in Lahore.

When you compare existing Lahore airport to the other country’s airport like Singapore,Kuwait, Malaysia Thailand, Turkey etc , Our airport looks a very poor and disgusting, so it is better to upgrade the existing airport instead of constricting new airport which means one more poor airport.
If it is necessary to construct a new airport, then it should be located in the area where customer flow is more than other areas. Like Gugranwala-Sheikhupura-Lahore triangle on M-2 or Faisalabad – Nankana Sahib – Lahore – Sahiwal rectangle on M-3
New airport should be built in Sahiwal near proposed motorway between Lahore and Kassowal which will facilitate south Punjab also.
Common man have so many problems. People have low living standards. Govt should spend on education, health, industry, economical pricing of basic necessities.
The money should be adjusted by lowering income tax. Utility bills and prices of basic necessities.

an unnecessary plan Punjab government should use this amount in giving relief to citizens of Punjab e.g to cut down provincial taxes percentage like vehicles tax or tax on food and fertilizer etc.etc
