Orange Line Bus and Train Services Suspended in Islamabad and Lahore

The Orange Line services in both Islamabad and Lahore were temporarily suspended on Friday following road closures at several key points in the two cities.

In Islamabad, the suspension affects the Orange Line bus service, while in Lahore, operations of the Orange Line Metro Train have been halted until further notice.

Authorities said the move is a precautionary measure to ensure public safety and facilitate traffic management during the enforcement of Section 144 across Punjab.

The provincial government imposed Section 144 in view of potential threats to peace and security. Under the order, all kinds of public gatherings, rallies, protests, sit-ins, and processions have been banned until October 18.

A spokesperson for the Punjab Home Department said that the order also prohibits the display of weapons, use of loudspeakers, and distribution of inflammatory or sectarian material.

Officials added that Orange Line operations will resume once the situation normalizes and road closures are lifted. Citizens have been advised to stay updated through official announcements.
