Suspects of Islamabad Bakery Murder Case Killed By Accomplices During Encounter

Two suspects involved in the murder of Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) Director (Land) Ihsan Elahi were killed by their accomplices in a police encounter.

According to the Islamabad Police (ICT), the suspects, identified as Abid Yaseen and Abrar Khan, were wanted for the killing of Ihsan Elahi and for injuring another man, Qaiser Ashfaq, outside Loafology bakery in Blue Area on October 7. Both victims were shot multiple times, and Ihsan Elahi died on the spot.

Police said the suspects had gone into hiding after the attack, and special teams had been working to locate them. They were arrested during a routine check in the Noon police limits. During interrogation, the two men confessed to their involvement in the Blue Area shooting and agreed to help identify their accomplices.

However, as police took the suspects to the location of their associates, unidentified men opened fire on the team. Officers remained unharmed due to protective measures, but during the exchange, both detained suspects were fatally hit—reportedly by bullets fired by their own accomplices.

The bodies were shifted to a hospital for post-mortem examination, while police have launched a search operation to trace and arrest the remaining suspects involved in the case.
