Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, has been awarded the First Class Order of Zayed II, the UAE’s highest civilian honour, in recognition of his outstanding efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between the two nations.
The award was presented in Abu Dhabi by Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State of the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on behalf of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The ceremony also conveyed special messages from Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, commending Ambassador Tirmizi’s exceptional contributions during his tenure.
Ambassador Tirmizi, who has served in Abu Dhabi for the past three years, expressed deep gratitude for the honour, describing it as a recognition not only of his personal efforts but of the dedication of Pakistan’s diplomatic corps and the Pakistani community in the UAE.
“This award is a tribute to the hard work and enduring friendship between Pakistan and the UAE,” he said. “It reflects the shared commitment of both countries to deepen cooperation in all fields.”
The ambassador extended his thanks to the UAE leadership, the embassy staff, and the Pakistani community for their continued support. He also acknowledged Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar for their confidence and guidance throughout his diplomatic service.
Ambassador Tirmizi emphasized that the honour symbolizes the historic and evolving partnership between Pakistan and the UAE, which continues to expand in trade, investment, energy, and people-to-people connections.
