The Punjab Environment Department has reported a 70 percent reduction in air pollution in Kahna following the use of anti-smog guns, marking a breakthrough in the fight against hazardous air quality in the city.
The department shared the results on Saturday, revealing that the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Kahna fell dramatically from 666 to 170 after the equipment was deployed. Officials said a modern scientific monitoring system was used to measure and verify the impact.
This was the first formal trial of smog guns in the area, and officials described the improvement in air quality as immediate and significant. Within minutes of operation, visible reductions in airborne pollutants were observed.
The initiative is part of a broader environmental protection campaign under the supervision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s Environmental Protection Force. Government officials praised the team behind the effort, calling the results a step forward in controlling seasonal smog and ensuring public health.
The department said it will continue using smog guns in other high-risk zones as part of its anti-smog strategy.

Publicity stunt . Smog is not affected by few little cars sprinklers.
Smog levels are still high as usual
Yeah what a load of garbage… My eyes are still watering from all the pollution.
Yeah Ghoraa, Yeah Maidan
Will See, no need to claim prematurely
Video clips will need no explanation
Although equipment may be effective but are the results long lasting or were the results taken immediately after firing the anti smog gun?
This is an ambiguous results that show no solid details of how long the results last, how many times a day everyday guns must be used to achieve desirable results. What are the long term effects. What are the costs involved in running this equipment. How many vehicles are needed for how much square kms
Seems like marketing more than a scientific task
Assalaam-O-Alaikum.
This step of smog control is very encouraging and also showing good results.wish the government more success in controlling the Smog.
This is entirely a false claim by the Government of the Punjab. Lahore is nearing to be declared the top polluted city in the world. If after reducing pollution 70%, it is going to earn this “Award”, then one may imagine the position of Lahore without the so-called reduction!
