Lahore Board Ends Identity Fraud During Exams With New Initiative

The Lahore Board has officially introduced a biometric attendance system to prevent impersonation and other forms of identity fraud during examinations.

The new system, aimed at improving transparency, was first tested during the matriculation second annual exams at the Lawrence Road Examination Centre. Over 200 students were successfully verified through biometric scanning during the trial phase.

Following the pilot’s success, the board is now expanding the system to cover the Intermediate Second Annual Examinations. More than 35,000 candidates are expected to sit for these exams, and all of them will have their attendance recorded biometrically.

The board has issued a strict warning: anyone caught attempting to take an exam under a false identity will not only face a permanent exam ban but will also be handed over to law enforcement.

Incidents of cheating, impersonation, and identity concealment have plagued boards in the past, raising concerns about the credibility of the examination process.

Officials believe the use of biometric verification will provide a reliable solution to these longstanding issues, helping restore trust in the examination system.
