The Punjab government has introduced major changes to the province’s educational curriculum.
According to sources, after revising the syllabus for ninth grade, authorities will soon begin reviewing the curriculum for eleventh grade as well. The decision comes in response to students’ and teachers’ complaints and demands.
Earlier this year, a new syllabus was launched for both classes, but the eleventh-grade curriculum was found to contain excessive material and multiple errors, prompting the need for revision.
Sources said that the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board (PCTB) has already formed special committees to reduce and refine the content.
Preliminary recommendations for reducing the ninth-grade syllabus have been prepared, and an official notification regarding syllabus reduction is expected to be issued in the first week of November.
