Police officers in Rawalpindi rushed to a hospital to donate blood for a one-year-old child scheduled for open-heart surgery after the child’s father called the emergency helpline 15 for help.
According to details, the distressed father — a resident of Sargodha — was in Rawalpindi for his child’s operation at the Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology and urgently needed blood. Unable to arrange donors, he contacted the Punjab Police helpline.
Upon receiving the call, Rawalpindi police officers immediately reached the hospital and donated a total of four bottles of blood to support the surgery.
The child is set to undergo the procedure today.
The father thanked Punjab Police and Rawalpindi Police for their timely response and lifesaving assistance. Police officials said helping citizens in distress is part of their duty, and they would continue to stand by the public in such moments.
