Toyota’s New Land Cruiser FJ Is Smaller, Tougher and Coming in 2026

Toyota has introduced the Land Cruiser FJ prototype, a new compact SUV that will expand its long-running Land Cruiser lineup. The company plans to launch the vehicle in Japan by mid-2026, with a possible global rollout to follow.

Toyota will present the Land Cruiser FJ prototype at the Japan Mobility Show 2025, held at Tokyo Big Sight from October 30 to November 9.

Exterior

Safety

The prototype includes the Toyota Safety Sense package, which features:

  • Various driver assistance technologies
  • Off-Road Performance and Platform Details

Though still a prototype, Toyota confirms the FJ has undergone off-road testing to meet Land Cruiser standards. It is built on a version of the IMV series platform, likely ladder-frame-based, and includes several key features:

Pakistan Launch?

Toyota has not yet confirmed which international markets will receive the FJ, but given the popularity of Toyota’s existing Land Cruiser models in the local market, it is likely that Pakistan too will get this new FJ model.
