Punjab Launches Major Teacher Verification Program With Official Licenses

The Punjab Education, Curriculum, Training & Assessment Authority (PECTAA) is set to begin a province-wide Teachers Verification Program starting in November 2025. The initiative aims to improve education quality by verifying the qualifications and credentials of teachers working in both public and private schools.

The program will start with a comprehensive data collection and document verification process. Teachers across Punjab will be required to upload scanned copies of their academic, professional, and identification documents through an official online portal.

PECTAA plans to use this process to build a digital database of verified teachers. This step is expected to support future education planning, training efforts, and policy decisions. It will also help identify individuals working with fake degrees or without proper qualifications.

Step-by-Step Verification Process

The verification program will roll out in two phases:

  • Phase 1 (Starting November 2025): Teachers will submit their documents online, including Matric, Intermediate, Bachelor’s, and Master’s degrees, as well as B.Ed. and M.Ed certifications, CNIC/B-Form, and experience letters.
  • Phase 2: Physical verification will be carried out for suspicious or incomplete cases. Verified individuals will receive an official teacher license or certification from PECTAA.

Instructions for Teachers

Teachers are advised to prepare in advance by keeping clear and valid scanned copies of their certificates. The program will be mandatory for all teachers, government and private.

PECTAA has issued the following guidance:

  • Only use the official PECTAA portal to upload documents.
  • Do not share credentials with third parties offering help with registration.
  • Verification delays may impact promotions or continued employment.
  • District education offices may conduct training or awareness sessions.

Once a teacher is verified, PECTAA will issue an official confirmation message or certificate.
