The Punjab government has prepared a plan to improve English language skills in public schools. Under this initiative, both government teachers and students will receive English language training.
The School Education Department has proposed a budget estimate of Rs 12 billion for the project. Under the plan, students will be given access to a modern curriculum and practical language learning opportunities.
At the same time, teachers will receive English language proficiency training aligned with international standards.
Moreover, the program includes the introduction of digital learning tools and the supply of modern teaching materials to schools. Officials say the initiative will provide millions of students with access to a global-standard education.
A recent report reveals that only 35% of children in Punjab can read and write the English language. Authorities argue that improving English proficiency is a strong step toward preparing students for global competition.
