Lahore Police to Register FIRs Against One-Wheeling Bikers on Social Media

The Lahore Traffic Police has intensified its crackdown on one-wheeling, a dangerous stunt that has claimed lives and left families devastated.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore, Dr Athar Waheed, announced that strict measures, including the registration of FIRs, will be taken against individuals involved in this practice.

In a statement issued Friday, Dr Waheed said the department’s Cyber Patrol Wing is actively monitoring social media platforms around the clock to identify and take action against one-wheelers. He emphasized that the use of social media to glamorize one-wheeling will not be tolerated.

He cited a recent incident where an FIR was filed after a video showing a group of youth, including a boy and a girl, performing one-wheeling stunts, went viral online. According to Dr Waheed, this move is in line with the Punjab Inspector General’s directive to enforce a zero-tolerance policy against one-wheeling across all police units.

Calling one-wheeling a “game of death,” he said such stunts have resulted in fatal accidents and long-term grief for families. He urged parents and educators to play an active role in discouraging children from engaging in these acts.

As part of its awareness campaign, the Lahore Traffic Police’s Education Wing is visiting schools and colleges to inform students about the life-threatening risks associated with one-wheeling.

Dr Waheed also warned social media users against sharing or promoting one-wheeling videos to increase engagement on their accounts. He said such actions could lead to legal consequences.

Reiterating the vision of the Chief Minister of Punjab, he said the Lahore Traffic Police remains committed to road safety and continues its efforts 24 hours a day to ensure public security.
