AirLink Communication is in active talks to add a new mobile phone brand to its local manufacturing portfolio.
The company disclosed the ongoing discussions during a recent corporate briefing but did not share the name of the brand or confirm any formal agreement. However, management noted that preparations are underway to support another major partnership within its existing infrastructure.
AirLink already assembles phones under multiple international brands at its Lahore-based facility. Bringing in a new brand would further increase the utilization of this capacity and align with the government’s ongoing push for local production. The company views this as part of a broader strategy to reduce reliance on imports, improve cost efficiencies, and create employment through domestic assembly.
Pakistan’s mobile manufacturing sector has seen notable growth in recent months. In July 2025 alone, local production exceeded 3.5 million units, which is an impressive 123% year-on-year increase, according to official data. The uptick comes amid supportive policies that encourage companies to assemble devices locally instead of importing fully built units.
AirLink has stated in previous updates that its Lahore facility is equipped for large-scale production and already contributes significantly to Pakistan’s mobile phone output. The firm believes that expanding its assembly operations could help strengthen the supply chain, especially if export approvals for certain products are granted.
