Air Punjab to Launch With Modern Planes

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed officials to make Air Punjab operational at the earliest, emphasizing that the provincial airline must launch with modern and comfortable aircraft on lease.

According to media reports, she chaired a detailed review meeting in Lahore, and the Chief Minister was briefed on the progress of the Air Punjab project. She instructed the authorities to complete Phase One immediately and ensure that all technical and operational requirements are met without delay.

The meeting also agreed on the initial flight route between Lahore and Islamabad, which will serve as the airline’s first operational corridor.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz stressed that Air Punjab should provide affordable, efficient, and passenger-friendly services, adding that the project represents an important step in boosting connectivity and economic activity within the province.

The session also reviewed the progress of the Muree Glass Train Project, where the Chief Minister directed the concerned departments to speed up implementation and ensure timely completion.

Officials noted that the provincial government aims to position Air Punjab as a modern regional carrier that enhances travel convenience and strengthens tourism and trade links across Punjab.
