Preparations for Sri Lanka’s upcoming white-ball tour of Pakistan have officially begun, as a Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) reconnaissance team arrived in Lahore to review arrangements and security measures ahead of next month’s tri-nation series.
According to local sources, the delegation will visit Lahore, Islamabad, and Rawalpindi over the coming days to inspect match venues, team hotels, and travel routes. Officials from local administrations and security agencies will brief the visiting team at each venue regarding safety protocols and logistical plans for the tour.
Sri Lanka are set to play both a tri-nation T20I tournament and a bilateral ODI series during their tour of Pakistan. As per the schedule, the three-match ODI series will take place at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on November 11, 13, and 15. Following the ODIs, Pakistan will host a tri-nation T20I tournament featuring Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe as other teams, set to run from November 17 to 29 across Lahore and Rawalpindi.
The security visit comes just days after an Australian security delegation landed in Karachi for similar assessments ahead of their own upcoming tour next year.
If the SLC team gives the all-clear, the series will mark another milestone in Pakistan’s steady return as a full-fledged international cricket host. Sri Lanka’s tour of Pakistan also holds historical significance. It will be only their second visit to Pakistan since the unfortunate attack on their team bus in 2009.
With security reviews underway and international teams showing renewed trust, Pakistan’s cricketing landscape continues to rebuild its global reputation. The upcoming series not only promises exciting cricket but also reflects the country’s resilience and commitment to welcoming the world back to its stadiums.
