Lahore Announces New Closing Timings for Markets and Hotels

In response to the city’s worsening smog crisis, Lahore’s district administration has announced new working hours for markets, restaurants, and cafés. The new schedule takes effect immediately and will be strictly enforced, officials said.

Market Timings:

• Monday to Saturday: Close at 10 p.m.
• Sunday: Open from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Restaurant and Café Timings:

• Monday to Thursday: Close at 11 p.m.
• Friday, Saturday, Sunday: Close at 12 a.m. (midnight)
• Home delivery services: Allowed until 2 a.m. every day

Exempted Essential Services (no time restrictions):

• Medical stores
• Hospitals
• Milk shops
• Tandoors
• Laboratories
• Petrol pumps
• Puncture repair shops

Authorities emphasized that these new working hours are mandatory. Strict action will be taken against any violations. Local administration and police teams will monitor compliance to ensure all businesses follow the revised schedule.
