Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan visited the Islamabad-Murree Expressway to review the ongoing construction work and expressed satisfaction over the project’s overall progress.
He announced that the expressway’s completion has entered its final phase and that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will inaugurate the project soon.
Aleem Khan said the Islamabad-Murree Expressway has been upgraded into a modern highway meeting international standards. The route, which carries millions of tourists annually to the popular hill station of Murree, has been equipped with advanced facilities to make travel safer and more comfortable.
The federal minister praised the performance of the National Highway Authority (NHA) team, noting that motorway police have now been deployed along the expressway to improve traffic management and assist travelers more effectively.
He further highlighted that new rest areas with modern amenities have been established for passengers. The project, he added, reflects the government’s commitment to providing world-class infrastructure and ensuring smooth, safe travel experiences.
