Punjab has officially launched its e-challan system in another major city, marking a key step toward digital traffic enforcement across the province. The latest city to adopt the system is Faisalabad, where electronic challans are now being issued to traffic violators.
According to the Punjab Safe City Authority (PSCA), the Excise and Taxation Department has provided complete vehicle registration data to integrate with the Safe City system. Citizens have also been notified about the new e-challan process.
Traffic violations including riding without a helmet, signal jumping, and driving the wrong way will now result in electronic challans. The fines will be delivered directly to the violator’s home address. Officials said that all types of traffic rule violations will be monitored and recorded through the system.
More than 1,400 surveillance cameras have been installed across Faisalabad’s city area to identify and document traffic offenses in real time. The data collected through these cameras will automatically generate challans, ensuring transparency and accuracy in enforcement.
