Hyderabad traffic police have raised fine amounts across the city. Officials said simple challans will be issued first. They will switch to e-challans soon.
The new list sets steeper penalties for common offences. Not having a number plate now carries a fine of Rs 20,000. Driving without a licence will cost Rs2,500.
Other fines include:
- No helmet: Rs500.
- Wrong parking: Rs2,000.
- One-way violation: Rs3,000.
- No indicators: Rs1,000.
Traffic police said they have sent all data for the e-challan rollout. They added that the digital system will start soon. Banners explaining the new fines are already in place.
Authorities issued the updated penalty list to traffic staff. Police have one week to begin strict enforcement. The move aims to improve road safety and ensure better traffic discipline.
Officials urged motorists to follow the rules. They warned that higher fines will be enforced to reduce violations and accidents. Complying with the law will also help drivers avoid costly penalties.

The government which is not elected but selected and hegemonized over the citizens is unaware of the ground realities. They have brought American system over people living in bygone times. Education, health, crimes, corruption, inflation, and many other issues of the citizens are beyond their scope of agendas. The country where half of the people are living below the poverty line, they are imposing taxes of 20,000 whereas even graduates are hardly making their both hands meet.
The whole of karachi is looking like a slum with no adequate but they could not fix this, but out of no where they are concerned about toad safety.
First take action against the vehicle which is moving on open letter. Than you can give E challan to the owner of the vehicle.also fines are too heavy if panaltes only for making money so it’s other way to collect money from public.resonable fines may be accepted and people also avoid the traffic violation.

It has been three years since Red Line project began and they havent completed it, but for their greedy money grabbing e-challans they have a whole team of engineers waiting to complete it within a few weeks? There are so many kinds of license plates in Karachi. Black plates, white plates, green plates, Armed forces plates, yellow plates, Ajrak design plates. Plates in Police colors. Approved license plates must be identified by size, shape, background color. Size & Color of fonts, mounting location. Any motorized vehicle can commit a violation, be involved in an accident, or other criminal activity? Even Animal draw. Vehicles must be registered and have plates. School vans, Ambulance, loader Rickshaws, loader Suzukis, tankers, dumpers, coasters, buses, Electric scooties.
