Pakistan’s next generation of cricketers is set to take center stage in Qatar later this month as the Pakistan Shaheens squad gears up for the Men’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025.
Muhammad Irfan Khan will lead the team in the upcoming tournament, which is scheduled from November 14 to 23 in Doha.
The eight-team T20 tournament will serve as a crucial platform for young Asian talents to showcase their skills on the international stage. Pakistan Shaheens have been placed in Group B alongside Oman, India A, and UAE, while Group A features Afghanistan A, Bangladesh A, Hong Kong, and Sri Lanka A.
The Shaheens will kick off their campaign against Oman on Friday, November 14, before locking horns with arch-rivals India A in what promises to be a highly anticipated clash on Sunday, November 16. Their final group fixture will be played against UAE on Tuesday, November 18.
According to the tournament format, the top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals on November 21, with the grand final scheduled for Sunday, November 23.
Before their departure, the Shaheens will attend a four-day training camp from November 8 to 11 at the Hanif Muhammad High Performance Centre in Karachi, focusing on acclimatization and fine-tuning for Gulf conditions.
The 15-member squad features an exciting mix of emerging stars, including all-rounders Arafat Minhas and Mubasir Khan, alongside fast-bowling prospects Ahmed Daniyal and Ubaid Shah. The middle order will revolve around the consistency of captain Muhammad Irfan Khan, who has already impressed in T20s with his calm temperament and aggressive stroke play.
