The Capital Development Authority (CDA) will construct a new interchange in Islamabad to connect Sector I-16 with the Srinagar Highway, according to a written reply submitted by Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control, Senator Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, in the National Assembly.
The minister informed the House that a road is part of the Islamabad Master Plan that links Sector I-16 with the Srinagar Highway. As per the plan, an interchange will be developed at the intersection of 17th Avenue and Srinagar Highway. The CDA is currently developing Sector H-16, while the service road between Sectors H-16 and H-17 will also be constructed as part of the project.
He added that the 16th Avenue, situated between Sectors H-15 and H-16, will be constructed in accordance with the provisions of the Master Plan. The number of interchanges and underpasses on 16th Avenue will be finalized once the detailed design is prepared.
The minister stated that avenues across the federal capital are planned and constructed to ensure smooth traffic flow and reduce congestion. The construction of 10th Avenue is already underway to further improve mobility and connectivity within Islamabad.
According to the written reply, Sector I-16 is currently under development with residential units being built, and there are no existing impediments to traffic movement. The construction of 16th Avenue and the proposed interchange will be carried out based on future traffic demand and urban expansion requirements.

CDA doing all sort of road and inter change projects . However, the solution of heavy traffic passing through Islamabad via IJP & Islamabad Expressway is not even under consideration. There are around 15,000 commercial vehicle passing on daily basis emitting pollutants which makes the air heavy and polluted. CDA may kindly give some consideration to remove heavy traffic from Islamabad.

Seems like the interest is only for those who have grabbed the lands in those sectors and want to sell it on higher costs. Wheres, sector like G-15 and G-16 with majority of population have been forbidden the access to the Sirinagar Highway which already have approved plan of linking these sectors with the Sirinagar Highway. Please do think of people living in these sectors before giving advantage to buddies selling land on high cost where the population is not even 20% I’m comparison to G-15 and G-16.
Good work
