The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has issued a clarification regarding the procurement of a firewall.
According to the statement, the regulator has clarified that the tender for the procurement of the firewall is a routine IT security activity of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
The firewall is used internally to protect PTA’s own systems and software from cyberattacks. As the existing firewall is nearing expiry, a tender has been issued in accordance with PPRA rules to renew this protection.
Firewalls are a standard cybersecurity tool used by all major organizations, including banks, multinational companies, and government institutions, to safeguard internal networks from digital threats.
This procurement relates only to PTA’s internal network security and protection of applications installed on PTA’s internal systems.
