A Punjab police constable allegedly handcuffed a man to a pole at Jhika Gali Chowk following a heated altercation outside a local courthouse in Murree.
According to initial reports, the incident occurred after Constable Mubashir and a citizen named Khalid clashed outside the local courthouse.
The officer claimed that Khalid had attacked him and attempted to kill him. He further stated that the suspect was facing two cases, one in which he had been granted bail and another in which arrest warrants had been issued, and that Khalid tried to flee the court premises in his vehicle.
Khalid, however, denied the allegations, saying he was involved in only one case and had just been granted bail by the court. He accused the constable of tearing his clothes and mistreating him, adding that he was an overseas Pakistani.
Following the incident, police officials, along with Khalid and his lawyers, proceeded to the District Police Officer’s (DPO) office for further investigation.
