Punjab to Change Syllabus of 3 Classes

The Punjab School Education Department has decided to revise the syllabus for grades one through three to make it more effective and easier for children to understand.

Officials stated that unnecessary content will be removed from the primary syllabus to improve students’ comprehension and learning abilities. Only essential student learning outcomes (SLOs) will remain, while additional or redundant material will be eliminated.

According to reports, the existing syllabus placed an excessive burden on young learners, making it difficult for them to grasp key concepts. The planned reforms aim to reduce this load and improve the overall quality of early education.

In a related development, the Punjab Examination Commission for Textbook and Curriculum Authority (PECTA) has released a corrected version of the revised smart syllabus for grade nine, following the removal of multiple errors.

Officials confirmed that the updated syllabus now ensures subject-wise accuracy, addressing approximately 50 mistakes in Chemistry, 85 in Physics, 40 in Biology, and more than 21 in Computer Science.

The revisions were made with the assistance of teachers from Qazi Apex School, who helped identify and rectify the issues. Authorities further announced that the revised smart syllabus for grade eleven is expected to be published next week.
