Honor’s newly released Magic8 Pro smartphone will feature different battery capacities depending on the region, the company has confirmed. While the device is already available in China with a 7,200mAh silicon-carbon battery, international versions will see adjustments.
The global variant of the Magic8 Pro will ship with a 7,100mAh battery, representing a minor reduction of less than 2% compared to the Chinese model. This difference is unlikely to affect most users in day-to-day usage.
However, buyers in the European Union will see a more substantial change. The EU model is set to include a 6,270mAh battery, a decrease of almost 12% from the Chinese version. Although this is still a significant capacity, the reduction may have a noticeable effect on battery life.
For comparison, last year’s Magic7 Pro in the EU featured a 5,270mAh battery and achieved nearly 14 hours of active use, suggesting the new model should offer longer endurance.
Charging speeds also differ by region. The Chinese edition of the Magic8 Pro supports 120W wired charging, while global and EU models are limited to 100W. All versions offer 80W wireless charging.
Further details on the Magic8 Pro’s international rollout are expected soon.
