OnePlus 15R Confirmed After Launch – Big Specs Expected Soon

For the past several product cycles, OnePlus has released its main numbered flagship alongside an “R”-series sub-flagship. This year’s launch followed a similar pattern, but with one exception: although the company unveiled the OnePlus 15 globally yesterday, the OnePlus 15R was not part of the announcement. However, at the end of the livestream, OnePlus confirmed the device’s existence and asked fans to wait for further details.

What to Expect From the OnePlus 15R

The OnePlus 15R is widely expected to be based on either the OnePlus Ace 6 or the upcoming Ace 6T, designed for the Chinese market. The Ace 6, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, is already available in China. OnePlus is also preparing to introduce the Ace 6T, which is expected to launch with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 5.

Expected Specifications Based on the Ace 6T

Reports suggest the OnePlus Ace 6T will feature a 1.5K OLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate. It is said to run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset and include an 8,000mAh battery with support for 100W fast charging. The device is expected to offer a 32-megapixel front camera and a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel main sensor and an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor.

The Ace 6T is also reported to include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, a metal middle frame, dual speakers, NFC, an X-axis linear motor, and ColorOS 16 based on Android 16.

How It Compares to the Ace 6

The Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered Ace 6 is positioned slightly differently. It features a larger 6.83-inch OLED display with higher resolution and refresh-rate capability, along with a 7,800mAh battery that supports 120W charging. Its front camera uses a 16-megapixel sensor, while the rest of its core specifications remain mostly aligned with the upcoming Ace 6T.

With the OnePlus 15R now officially acknowledged, its final spec sheet will likely depend on which of these two Ace models it ultimately mirrors.
