Maaz Sadaqat Shrugs Off India Hype

Pakistan’s rising all-rounder Maaz Sadaqat has made his feelings clear after helping the Pakistan Shaheens defeat India A in the Asia Cup Rising Stars by eight wickets.

Speaking after his man-of-the-match performance, Maaz reflected on his approach, saying he would have played the same way regardless of the opposition.

“I am very happy because I helped Pakistan win the match. Whether it’s India or any other team, I only have one thing in mind: to play my own game. That’s what I try to do — keep things simple and just play my game,” he said while speaking to Pakistan Cricket Board media.

His statement reflects a growing maturity within the Shaheens setup, where the emphasis has shifted firmly toward process over pressure. While fans across the subcontinent often view Pakistan vs. India fixtures as cricket’s biggest spectacle, Maaz’s response illustrates a dressing room determined to stay grounded and unaffected by external noise.

This mindset was evident during the most anticipated clash of the 2025 Asia Cup Rising Stars. Maaz Sadaqat first starred with the ball, claiming two crucial wickets to dent India’s batting, and then followed up with an unbeaten 79 off 47 balls to guide his side home with ease.

With these performances, Maaz has strengthened his case for a place in Pakistan’s senior team. He currently sits second among the highest run-scorers in the Asia Cup Rising Stars and leads the wicket-taking charts, underlining his all-round credentials.

Pakistan A will now face the UAE in their final group match before the semifinals while another encounter with India A remains a possibility further on as well.

With the Shaheens looking sharp and Pakistan’s young talents stepping up across all departments, Maaz’s statement sends a clear message: this team is not getting carried away by rivalries. They are focused, confident, and prepared for whoever comes next.

And if that next opponent happens to be India once more, Maaz Sadaqat has already made Pakistan’s stance perfectly clear.
