Additional Inspector General Karachi Javed Alam Odho has warned that strict action will begin against anyone using fake or illegal number plates on vehicles. He said the police will act without discrimination as part of the ongoing crackdown.
He instructed citizens to correct their vehicle and motorcycle number plates by December 5, adding that all vehicles with illegal plates after the deadline will be seized.
The deadline for Sindh’s Ajrak-style number plates expired on October 31, yet many motorists continue to violate the requirement.
According to the Excise Department, Sindh has more than 6.5 million registered motorcycles, over 3.3 million of which are in Karachi alone. Officials noted that since the launch of the e-challan system, many drivers have reportedly installed fake plates to avoid fines.
Police said they have already identified numerous violators and will not offer leniency once enforcement begins.

When Number plates still not issued by exciese departnent then you are not authorised to chcek or take any action .Do your job first and aviod crouption

Numbers are already allocated to vehicle owners, if they’re getting same design number plate made from open market in order to avoid hassle then how can those plates be termed fake or illegal?
Simply because vehicle owners are not getting new plates from government approved contractor, they get termed as fake? When the number on the plate remains same as previous plate then how can it be termed fake?
Just a money minting corruption method..
If number plate doesn’t match documents, or isn’t of approved ajrak official design, only then can it be termed fake or illegal..

Applied plate in March every second day checking status it shows not printed whose fault is this. Why I am suppose to suffer after paying charges.
Hilarious it is……the excise dept refuses to issue plates that were applied for months ago and the police dept shall take strict action against the car owners instead of the issuing department 🤪
