Temperature in Islamabad and Rawalpindi to Drop Below 5°C

Temperatures in northern Pakistan, including Rawalpindi and Islamabad, are expected to drop further in the coming days, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

The department said both day and night temperatures will continue to fall as colder continental air persists over the region.

A Met official said Rawalpindi and Islamabad recorded a minimum temperature of 5 degrees Celsius on Sunday, with a sharper decline likely at night in the coming days. He added that most northern areas will experience very cold conditions, especially during the early morning and nighttime hours.

The Met Office also warned that shallow fog and smog may develop in parts of Punjab, particularly during the morning and night.

Meanwhile, some of the lowest temperatures in the country were recorded in upper regions, including minus 8 degrees Celsius in Leh, minus 7 in Skardu, minus 5 in Gilgit, and minus 3 in Babusar and Kalat.
