Punjab Govt to Promote Punjabi Language in Schools

The Punjab government has announced a new initiative to promote Punjabi language, literature, and polite conversation in all public schools across the province.

Officials have instructed that students be trained to use courteous words such as “Tusi” and “Assi,” while avoiding informal or offensive language.

The program also emphasizes the promotion of Saraiki and Pothohari languages in schools across southern and northern Punjab. Headteachers have been directed to organize activities in local languages and record videos of students conversing in Punjabi or other regional languages.

All videos are to be shared in official CEO groups, and school heads are required to submit implementation reports to ensure compliance with the initiative.
