Android 16 Hits Motorola Edge 50 Ultra: Here’s Who Gets It First

Motorola has started rolling out the Android 16 update to the Edge 50 Ultra, bringing the company’s latest software to another one of its older flagship devices. The update is currently reaching units purchased in Brazil.

The new firmware arrives over the air as version W1UV36H.61-15 and has a download size of 1.64GB.

As with most major software releases, Motorola is rolling out the update in stages, meaning it may take several days before it reaches all Edge 50 Ultra users in Brazil.

Once the rollout is complete in the region, the update is expected to expand to additional markets.

The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra launched last year with Android 14, later received Android 15, and is now moving to Android 16.

The device is confirmed to receive one more major OS upgrade, Android 17, but no further Android version updates beyond that.

Motorola will continue providing security patches until April 2028, ensuring long-term protection for users.
